Fearful; Orange warning for 10 districts, 11 cm of rain is possible, advised to be careful of western storm
Bhubaneswar: The effect of Kala Baisakhi will continue in Odisha for the next 4 days. By 9 am on Monday morning, thunderstorm and hailstorm with speed of 40 to 50 km per hour may occur in Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh districts. Therefore, orange warning has been issued for the said districts. A yellow warning has been issued due to the possibility of temporary impact on other districts as well. In addition, the public is advised to monitor local weather and take shelter in a safe place during lightning storms. The Regional Meteorological Center has asked the farmers to harvest their crops as there is a risk that the harvestable rabi crops will be affected due to the effects of rain and wind. According to the forecast, there will be lightning and hailstorm in most of the districts of the state between Monday morning and Tuesday morning. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) and gusty winds of 40 to 50 km per hour may occur at some places.
Yellow warning has been issued for Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Baleshwar, Bhadrak and Kendrapara districts, orange and other districts of coastal and western Odisha. Meteorological Center has estimated that the effects of Kalabeishaki will continue on April 25, 26 and 27. According to the information of Panipag Scientist Umashankar Das, 70 mm of rain was recorded in Koksra of Kalahandi district in the last 24 hours, while 56.4 in Atabira of Bargarh district, 56.2 in Dabugo of Nabarangpur, 52.2 mm of rain has been received in Burla of Sambalpur. Most parts of south and west Odisha experienced hailstorm while the wind speed reached 50 km per hour or more in some places. A low pressure line is present from Himalayan foothills and West Bengal valley to Bihar. Also, the Westerly Cyclone is in the form of a Cyclone in Punjab. There is a pressure on Odisha. This effect will have a temporary effect for the next 3 to 4 days. He informed that the day temperature remained below normal in all places.
